Can you believe it’s already May? Flowers are in bloom, grass is growing and we have a lot to be thankful for.

Having a well-designed outdoor space can make for a much needed escape as the weather warms up. If your patio or backyard needs to be freshened up we’ve got some great ideas. Durable indoor/outdoor dining chairs, modern concrete side tables, and a few more items I’ve included in the post.

First up is the Kawartha Chair a very popular and comfortable chair made in Canada. We’ve got limited stock left at a sale price. Don’t wait, call us today to purchase (shown above in red).

I loved looking at this collection of photography and I wanted to share it with you as well. “The German Society for Nature Photography have just announced the winners of the Nature Photographer of the Year 2020 contest, and the shots are absolutely beautiful.” If you are out for a walk take your camera with you. You never know what you might capture. The Magnolia trees are in bloom in my neighbourhood. The photo below is by Max Fellerman.

If you need a daily dose of happiness check out The Happy News by Emily Coxhead. It is a quarterly newspaper that ships worldwide, sharing positive news and wonderful people.

If you want to try something a little different “Tequila Lime Marqarita Popsicles” might be your new go to recipe for the summer.

Who doesn’t love dogs? When you shop at Twoheys you might find our shop dogs Riley, Gracie or Gladys chilling on a sofa. This video made me laugh out loud. These pups are obviously not affected by the social distancing rules we currently are.

The Peterborough Humane Society posted this and it made me laugh! “All of our dogs think we quit our jobs to spend more time with them. All of our cats think we got fired for being the loser they always knew we were.” They are closed to the public but still able to offer contactless adoptions. Visit the site for more information.

We love items that are functional, durable and pleasing to the eye. Outdoor area rugs are a great way to anchor your dining table or seating area. Available in a variety of patterns and sizes; your feet will thank you. Contact the shop to see what we currently have available.

“Our Nordic and Nomad tables are truly multifunctional. For indoor or outdoor use and made from hammered aluminum. Use as a coffee table, side table, planter, storage table, you decide.”  This table is one of our best sellers and you can understand why. The perfect place to hide your kids toys, games, throw blankets or just put your feet up and relax. If you are using it outdoors it is recommended that the table be in a covered area. It comes in several sizes, contact us to see what suits your space the best. Photo by Style In Form

If you are into plants and gardening check out this post. Lots of great tips and easy DIY’s.

Check out the selection of clothing and footwear at the downtown boutique Charlotte’s Web. Roxy, Quicksilver, Billabong…so many great brands for the entire family. Can’t wait for summer weather to finally arrive!

The Spring One Room Challenge, hosted by Better Homes and Gardens is something I enjoy following. Now in its 17th season, the ORC encourages and inspires design enthusiasts as it celebrates creativity and originality. Participants are usually given six weeks to transform a room. This time it is extended to eight due to Covid-19. Below photo by Paul Costello, design by Dabito.

I saw this printable and thought it would be great to have on your fridge for the entire family to fill out. Everyone could think of a few things they would like to do together once quarantine restrictions are lifted. Going to the park and the beach will be on our list for sure.

Everyone coming together as a team to support the people who are the most vulnerable at Altamont Care Home is wonderful. Read the story here.

I love discovering and sharing the work of Canadian artists. I think you will agree that Jo Kelly‘s tranquil paintings of water bring you happiness and a sense of calm. Jo’s home studio is located in Oakville and these pieces on wood panel are the latest in her collection. Check out her website to see more of her work. Below photo by Jo Kelly
