At Twohey’s we can help you create a space that you feel comfortable in and are proud to call home. Often customers come in with photos they have found online, and ask us to help them create that look. Every year interior design trends are predicted. Some of these last a while, some come and go in a few months. Right now some popular things include: cane details and accents on furniture, cream and ivory textured boucle fabrics, gold accents on accessories, marble and warm wood tones.

We want to help you find a classic, timeless aesthetic.  You can start by finding quality pieces that are made in Canada. I’ve put together some flat lays, which one is your favourite?

“When the right elements come together to truly make a living space feel timeless and luxurious, the result is transcendent. Additionally, for homeowners who may not want to update their interiors every few years as fads come and go, there is much to be said about interior design that endures.”

Here are a few things I wanted to share with you this week:

Grilled Peach and Prosciutto Pizza, sounds delicious!

I have never dreamed of living in a barn until I saw this conversion of a barn into a family home. Open concept, high ceilings, even a basketball hoop indoors. My family would love it!

It was interesting to read about this plant at the Toronto Zoo. “This species only blooms for 8-36 hours and this is the second time this species has bloomed in the GTA! Grown from seed, it can take six to ten years for a plant to produce its first flower, after which it can take several more years for it to bloom again.”

If you or a family member needs another mask for work or school Watson & Lou has these, Under One Sun also has masks for adults and children.

Most families are not travelling and planning holidays during the summer like usual. Check out this post for some insight from locals who share what vacation spots are like during Covid here. If you are looking for a new spot to visit this motel in Sauble Beach looks wonderful! Photo by The June Motel.

We all need a bit of time to ourselves, to relax and unwind. I thought this post about an “After-Work” routine was great.

These poets are sure to brighten your day.

A prefab home that is on the water, so cool!

I watched this home tour from House & Home & noticed the designer sourced lighting fixtures and artwork that we carry in our shop. If you are interested in a similar look let us know.

A new taco truck has just opened up in town on Chemong Road. Can’t wait to try them out. This fish taco recipe looks so delicious!

So excited for the new Peterborough Humane Society location. This donation certainly helps. If you stop into Twoheys you might get to visit with one of the shop dogs. Riley is chilling here ready to catch some waves.
